Congratulations! Your offer was accepted on a home. It is big fact, it is most everyone’s single largest investment

Did you make a wise decision? 
Did you do your home" work"?
Will this home serve your needs?    
Time to get to work.
You were cautious and wise. 
You have an Inspection contingency agreed to in your contract.
Now is the time to hire a state licensed inspector. The countdown is active for your number of days in complete your home/property inspections. Time to choose. If you have a home in a rural setting, you will be checking out the well and septic systems that serve the property as well as at the dwelling.
This is an important decision. 
How do you choose an inspector?

Here are a few ideas:
Ask your friends if they recommend an inspector.
Do an Internet search for inspectors in the area your new home is located in.
Ask your Realtor who other customers have utilized in past transactions.
Find an inspector with multiple credentials. Can your plumber inspect the well, test the water, inspect the septic - install or repair the well and septic system, test the soil?
Once you have a few suggestions - call and talk with them. Are they easy to get a hold of? 
Do you communicate well together?

Will the inspector be able to work within you time restraint agreed to in the offer to purchase contract? Does the inspector email the information and photos to you in the event you cannot be at the inspection in person?

Keep an open mind. Inspectors are here to help educate you about the home you are buying. 
No home is perfect. Building and how we use are homes are not a perfect science. Building codes evolve and homes can be updated.  Homes are a work in process from the day you take ownership. Some homeowners are very handy....others should not run or own power tools or even own a hammer. Know and respect your a video, ask a friend or parent for help, hire a contractor.  The opportunities are endless.
